Force is an distributed application and multiple instances of this
application has been implemented at the client. Maintaining the server
(Database, Application, and Backend) is one of the major role.
The background OS being Redhat Enterprise Linux , HP UNIX on all boxes, some of the Force application monitoring and debugging activities involves building shell scripts to automate various tasks like
Monitoring and sending auto mailers.
Regular system cleanup.
Checking the application health and taking corrective action automatically if any Force module fails..
Database activities involves administrative as well as procedure - debugging tasks.
Handling a xbfRename activities Which involves in depth knowledge of Force and UNIX.
Force Version upgrades(Deployment) on multiple servers(Clu, this includes understanding the underlying Force and Database architecture and various building blocks and installing and then testing/ correcting the installed Force instance.
APUpdate - Turf Movement, force configuration change according to client requirement.
Production Support - involving finding faults due to which Force system has broken down and bring it up by changing the required UNIX scripts/ sql triggers or procedures or Force Configuration Files.
xbfTechLoad activity - Force related activity.
Database Maintenance, Customer Service Bulletin (CSB) patching/stagging/deployment and cluster servers, JVM Configuration on cluster servers
Configuring Ethernet Card/s ISA and PnP
TCP/IP Configuration of Clients and Servers: Assigning IPs, Gateways, Name servers, netmasks, hostnames, domain names etc for individual machines and setting up the NW.
Setting up Secure NFS Servers with multiple Clients for File and Disk sharing for Corporate IntraNets include Failover High-Availability NFS Servers and share of vital capital-intensive computer equipment like Lasers, DVDs etc
